Read about our Chinese cultural day!

On the 18th of November, we had the pleasure to host a Chinese Cultural Event in our school!
Several teachers of Mandarin, welcomed the children with a short speech about what was going to follow and then the fun part began!
Two of our students ( Elly and Amalie) were dressed up in traditional Chinese kimonos and sang a beautiful song in fluent Mandarin!
After that, the teachers divided the students into four different groups, each one of them doing different activities. All of the students had the chance to try all of the activities and earn lovely ‘sweet’ prizes.
During the activities, the students were able to paint pandas with liquid black ink on thin rice paper and they also created beautiful lanterns by using colourful carton papers!
The activity that the children seemed to enjoy the most was using chopsticks in order to grab as many candies as they could within one minute!
Finally, the last activity gave them the chance to play some games, like balancing a ping pong ball on a racket while walking!
The children could earn one sticker from each activity, and when they gathered them all, they got their final prizes.
All in all, the event was very successful and both students and teachers enjoyed it. We are looking forward to hosting more events like this in the forthcoming weeks!
