Celebrating Burns Night with a day full of Poetry!
By Eleni Kefala
Once again this year, our students stunned us with their amazing Poetry performances which they prepared all by themselves with the support of their Houses. The day started as always, with some poetry workshops which children and teachers enjoyed together. After the workshops it was time for the big competition. We invited medical students from UPOL to be our judges, they gave points, comments and decided on the best performances. The House of Twits got 1st place with 49 points after performing the poem “My father can’t find me” by Kenn Nesbitt. The House of Wonkas got 2nd place with the House of Foxes and Matildas following. Lily from Y5 earned an extra House point for her House from being an exceptional performance coach these past two weeks. It was a fun event and we got to experience a lot of creativity and talent, we hope the children enjoyed it and hope to repeat it next year!
