Our older students are reading to our younger ones!
Author: Katerina Pegg
We believe that reading is one of the most important skills our students should develop on their path of learning. Reading for enjoyment is encouraged through these reading sessions.
Our year 5 and 6 students have been reading to and reading with students in year 1, year 2 and year 3. The feedback from this reading session was very positive on both sides.
The older students felt proud to be role models and show how much fun reading can be. The younger students loved the attention from an older reading-buddy which will help them develop their skills.
We are going to continue having regular reading sessions in our library, to promote this positive attitude towards reading.
