Alumni Spotlight: Julie
Celebrating the journeys of our former students to inspire the next generation.
- Could you please introduce yourself?
- My name is Julie. After graduating from the International School Olomouc, I studied at the American Academy in Brno and now continue with Digital Marketing and Communication at the Prague School of Creative Communication. I used to be a professional skier on the Czech National Team, and ISO helped me balance school with sport. Today, I work as a Network Media Manager at Ski Areál Kouty and run MindLab, a podcast about athlete mental health and personal growth.
- How has ISO influenced your career path and contributed to where you are today?
- ISO taught me balance, creativity, and confidence. The teachers always supported me, even when I was traveling for skiing, and made me feel that my goals mattered. The school was more than a place to study — it was a community where everyone cared about each other. That support taught me to believe in myself and to combine my passions, which is exactly what I do today in marketing and storytelling.
- What is one key skill or value from ISO that helped you?
- One of my favorite memories from ISO is when one of our teachers got married. My sister Viky played the entrance song on the harp, Kája and I held the rings, and other students walked as bridesmaids. It showed how close we all were — like one big family. That warmth and kindness taught me that real success is built on good relationships, empathy, and teamwork.
- What advice would you give to our current students?
- Enjoy every moment and don’t rush to have it all figured out. ISO gives you space to grow, explore, and make mistakes. Be curious, stay kind, and appreciate the people around you — they will shape you in ways you’ll understand later. Even the smallest memories can stay.
