CzSL pupils have prepared a theatre performance

The topic of the assembly held on 16 May was ‘Being pleased for someone’s achievement’. The pupils who follow the Czech as a Second Language programme had prepared a theatre performance for the other students, parents and teachers to enjoy. The play was called ‘The Little Indian Tale’ and was, of course, performed in Czech.

The story is one of the experience-based tales created by the authors involved in the ‘KukatkoProEd’ workshop aimed at primary age children. Its goal  is to support the development of  children’s social skills in a group setting.

The preparation of the performance took several weeks. To start with, the teachers involved in the play read out the script to the children in as animated and imaginative manner as possible. Then the pupils themselves made the decision as to whether the play would be chosen or not. Later, the other challenging tasks had to be faced - allocating  parts, memorising lines, practising the acting and movement, voice rehearsals, practising the songs, making the scenery and preparing the costumes.

Preparing the performance was a challenge for everyone involved. The feedback from the children showed that the experience was an enriching way to improve their language skills, during which they learned a lot more than just some new Czech words and phrases. A big thank you goes to everybody for their enthusiasm and hard work.

Why should your child attend iSchool?

They will gain perfect knowledge of English.

Your child will become a global citizen with wide understanding of local and international topics.

We put a strong emphasis on the development on subject specific skills rather than on acquisition of knowledge.

Emphasis on skills development (not just memorising).

Individual approach; school’s ability to motivate for improvement.

Your child will be excited to come to school.

School philosophy

You are not buying success, you are paying for the school to monitor your child’s progress to their goals and motivate them to fulfil their potential.

We are not a selective school: we believe that everybody can be successful.
