From Monday 27/April we are moving onto new version 3.0 of the distance learning programme.
The distance learning programme at International School Olomouc will continue also in the coming weeks. From Monday 27th April we are planning to launch another update onto version 3.0. Most importantly, we would like to thank all parents who sent us their feedback about the content as well as the extent of this programme. This valuable feedback is helping us to improve the children’s experience. So what can you expect in the new version?
1/ Following the feedback from both teachers and parents there will be some changes in the timetables. Each child will receive a new version of the timetable from their class teachers. The new timetables will be in effect from Monday 27th April
2/ For the whole school there will be new content in P.E courses on Google Classroom with a new assignment to be completed in the coming weeks. A new set of lesson plans supported by video sessions will be uploaded onto the courses as new material as well. Here you can watch the introduction video to PE cycle 2 and to the new assignment.
3/ Together with teachers we also discussed some examples of good practice in assigning work and organizing the Google Classroom course content. We expect this to have an impact on the improved work of teachers when assigning new tasks.
4/ Since teachers still receive some work from students via three different routes, in the new version from Monday it will not be possible to upload work on the STREAM tab. Returning all work will be possible only using the CLASSWORK tab directly through the assignments. We kindly ask all parents to streamline the communication and work submission through Google Classroom and NOT via Emails. Here you can watch again the instructional video showing how to return materials back to teachers.
Since the ban regarding the presence of pupils in schools issued by the government is to be in force until at least 25th May, in the coming days we will be testing a new improved functionality of permanent links offered by Google Meet and its integration with Google Classroom app. Unfortunately the free and unpaid version of Lifesize will expire with most teachers’ accounts in the first half of May.
In spite of the fact that we hope this way of learning will not continue for long, we are still accepting any feedback helping us to make this programme more effective and efficient. Below we attach a new and revised policy regarding the distance learning into which we have added some notes regarding protection of personal details and acceptable conduct during the online learning sessions (green colour).
We wish you all good health and staying positive.

They will gain perfect knowledge of English.
Your child will become a global citizen with wide understanding of local and international topics.
We put a strong emphasis on the development on subject specific skills rather than on acquisition of knowledge.
Emphasis on skills development (not just memorising).
Individual approach; school’s ability to motivate for improvement.
Your child will be excited to come to school.
You are not buying success, you are paying for the school to monitor your child’s progress to their goals and motivate them to fulfil their potential.
We are not a selective school: we believe that everybody can be successful.
Jolly Phonics is an engaging way to teach children pre -reading and pre -writing skills using phonics. Phonics is the teaching of the sounds that letters make, rather than the names of letters that are taught in the alphabet, because it is the sounds that are useful for reading and writing, not the names. These sounds are taught in a systematic way, alongside all of the skills needed for being a fluent reader and writer in future. Jolly Phonics also teaches all of this in a fun and engaging way, through characters, stories, actions, songs and games! To read more about Jolly Phonics, clickhere.

It is an excellent way to practise the skills learned through the Jolly Phonics Programme..
Cambridge Primary ENGLISH promotes an enquiry-based approach, developing learners’ confidence, creativity and intellectual engagement. Learners develop English skills that they can apply to a range of different purposes and audiences in everyday situations and in study.
