Primary and Secondary students are about to sit the end of the school year exams.
During the month of June, from 31st of May to 16th of June, the primary school children, starting from Y1 to Y6, are going to take the InCAS tests. These are interactive computer based tests related to Reading and Maths skills, as well as non-verbal reasoning skills. At the school we use these tests for a number of purposes. To identify children who would benefit from extra support, predict results at the Gymnasium entrance examinations or to measure year on year progress.
The Cambridge Progression tests are planned to be taken during the weeks of 7th to 18th June. These paper based tests are taken by our primary students, starting from Y3 to Y6 as well as by our secondary students in Y7 and Y8.
The Cambridge Progression tests provide a summative outcome of the students' English, Maths (and for secondary students Science) curriculum knowledge and understanding as well as the subject specific skills. These tests also provide teachers with information about the curriculum areas that need extra focus.
Czech children will also take the tests focused on Czech language and Czech History and Geography.
We want the testing to be a positive experience for all children. Thus we kindly ask parents not to put too much emphasis on the results and rather motivate children to take part and enjoy it.

ORT is a reading scheme which has been developed to help children learn to read from the age of 4. This scheme is used by a vast majority of preschools and schools in the UK and around the world.ORT includes popular characters and illustrations such as Biff, Chip and Kipper, Floppy, Wordless Stories and easy regular word books to capture children’s imagination and interest and help them develop their pre reading skills. It is an excellent way to practise the skills learned through the Jolly Phonics Programme..
Cambridge Primary ENGLISH promotes an enquiry-based approach, developing learners’ confidence, creativity and intellectual engagement. Learners develop English skills that they can apply to a range of different purposes and audiences in everyday situations and in study.
We teach English as a first language. Pupils that are only starting to learn English or need some additional support are allocated to our intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programme.
