With regard to the development of the situation, the context of our school, the risk assessment, legal advice and the information we have, we will from Monday 12/Apr open the school for daily attendance to all children and pupils from Lions to Y11.
From Monday 12.4. we are reopening the school for daily attendance for all children. At the same time, we issue a recommendation for all parents to test their own children themselves, ideally twice a week, preferably on Mondays and Thursdays in the morning. For self-testing, parents can use antigenic self-testing kits, which will be available to all children in the school gym. Parents can also take the tests home with them and perform the tests with the child in the comfort of home. If the test is positive, the child must not join the school.
The Wellion VivaDiag or Singclean self-test is performed according to the instructions provided with the test kits or can be viewed in this video. First you collect a testing kit for a child, on which you write the name of the child with a marker (in case you test it at school in the gym), prepare a test tube with a solution, swab the nasal mucosa with a rotating motion, then place the stick in the test tube and and turn a couple of times. Then drop three drops on the tester and leave on for 15 minutes. - the tester must be in a horizontal position. If two lines appear, it is not possible to send the child to school or preschool. In the case of a positive test performed at school, you will immediately take the child home. Report a positive result immediately to your pediatrician. Carrying out a self-test twice a week at home or at school is a recommendation for all parents.
Children who will be tested on arrival at school enter the building either through the gym or, after testing, choose a designated separate entrance according to the attached plan. Other children use only the entrances designed for their class so that the children do not mix too much.
The reopening of the school will be accompanied by other strict hygiene measures that have been applied in the past. There will be frequent ventilation and outdoor stays. In common areas, all children from school will be required to wear face masks. Parents accompanying children to preschool must wear face masks inside the building. School teachers will teach in respirators and will be regularly tested compulsory. The entrance to the school and preschool will be in several places according to the attached map. School-wide events and activities continue to be suspended.
The Afterschool Club will be resumed and all children will wear masks throughout their stay in the classroom. In case of favorable weather, we prefer and will stay outside, to which please adjust your child's clothes.
We ask parents to equip their children with more masks or respirators to exchange.
Lunches in the school canteen were automatically ordered for all children, please cancel individually in the strava.cz system by 9:00 on Friday if your child is not coming on Monday.
If, due to serious objective reasons, it is not possible for your child to attend full-time education, we will continue to provide, in exceptional cases and on the basis of a written request, limited distance learning programme in the form of individual video consultations between teacher and student. Work and tasks will be assigned via Google Classroom. Requests for this individual plan, stating the reason that prevents your child from participating in full-time education, must be sent to the Head of School Ms Pluskalova in writing or by email.
We very much appreciate your support and cooperation, which has helped us overcome a number of difficulties during the long period of distance learning. We believe that life will soon return to normal and we will meet on ordinary occasions as before. We all must do our best to achieve this common goal.
We look forward to seeing your children again.
They will gain perfect knowledge of English.
Your child will become a global citizen with wide understanding of local and international topics.
We put a strong emphasis on the development on subject specific skills rather than on acquisition of knowledge.
Emphasis on skills development (not just memorising).
Individual approach; school’s ability to motivate for improvement.
Your child will be excited to come to school.
You are not buying success, you are paying for the school to monitor your child’s progress to their goals and motivate them to fulfil their potential.
We are not a selective school: we believe that everybody can be successful.
Jolly Phonics is an engaging way to teach children pre -reading and pre -writing skills using phonics. Phonics is the teaching of the sounds that letters make, rather than the names of letters that are taught in the alphabet, because it is the sounds that are useful for reading and writing, not the names. These sounds are taught in a systematic way, alongside all of the skills needed for being a fluent reader and writer in future. Jolly Phonics also teaches all of this in a fun and engaging way, through characters, stories, actions, songs and games! To read more about Jolly Phonics, clickhere.
ORT is a reading scheme which has been developed to help children learn to read from the age of 4. This scheme is used by a vast majority of preschools and schools in the UK and around the world.ORT includes popular characters and illustrations such as Biff, Chip and Kipper, Floppy, Wordless Stories and easy regular word books to capture children’s imagination and interest and help them develop their pre reading skills. It is an excellent way to practise the skills learned through the Jolly Phonics Programme..
Cambridge Primary ENGLISH promotes an enquiry-based approach, developing learners’ confidence, creativity and intellectual engagement. Learners develop English skills that they can apply to a range of different purposes and audiences in everyday situations and in study.
We teach English as a first language. Pupils that are only starting to learn English or need some additional support are allocated to our intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programme.
