What have the youngest primary students been doing in Brno? Find out about their exciting class trip for IPC!
by Olga Kopečková
A few weeks ago, Year 1 started another exciting unit in IPC called “The Magic Toymaker”. We were learning about toys; ours and those our grandparents and parents played with. We searched for games and toys from all around the world; additionally we made our own homemade Play Dough, as well as engaging in many more interesting activities.
For the “Exit Point” of this unit, we went on a class trip to the Museum of Toys in Brno. There was a huge collection of old trains, dolls, games and more. We could try to play with old Marionettes; we heard about the history of some of the toys and compared it with the toys we play with nowadays. Our guide also taught us how to play two of the group games from the past called: “Zajíček v své jamce” and “Zlatá brána”.
At the end of our visit, we made our own toy - the “Cup catch”. The whole class enjoyed our Field trip and we are looking forward to the next IPC Unit.
