- Could you please introduce yourself?
- My name is Barbora and after ISO I completed my International Baccalaureate at International School of Brno, then moved to Bournemouth UK, completed Masters degree in Chiropractic and now working on another Masters degree in Pregnancy & Paediatric Musculoskeletal Health.
- How has ISO influenced your career path and contributed to where you are today?
- ISO played a big role in shaping who I am today. Growing up in such an international and supportive environment helped me become open-minded, confident, and comfortable working with people from all backgrounds—which is essential in healthcare. ISO encouraged curiosity and independent thinking, and that gave me the confidence to pursue a career in chiropractic. The values I learned there, like empathy, discipline, and lifelong learning, guide how I care for patients today. My long-term goal is to return to the Czech Republic and open my own clinic, and ISO was an important first step on that path.
- What is one key skill or value from ISO that helped you?
- One key value ISO gave me was the courage to step outside my comfort zone. Being surrounded by students and teachers from all over the world made moving countries feel natural rather than intimidating. That mindset helped me to move away from home to study chiropractic (a career that still doesn’t really exist here). ISO taught me not to fear unfamiliar paths, but to see them as opportunities, and that perspective has guided some of the most important decisions in my life.
- What advice would you give to our current students?
- Don’t be afraid to choose a path that isn’t obvious or familiar. Use ISO’s international environment to explore, ask questions, and learn from people with different perspectives. If you have the chance to study or work abroad, take it, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. The skills you build by stepping outside your comfort zone will stay with you for life. Trust yourself, stay curious, and remember that it’s okay to create your own path, even if it doesn’t exist yet.
