Our long standing cooperation with the Paediatrics Society of the Faculty of Medicine of UPOL rewarded us this year with an amazing series of first aid workshops!
During the first week of November, our pupils got the opportunity to meet and learn from an amazing group of medical students who have come here from all over the world to study medicine.
There were 4 workshops in total which took place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of November and were led by a different group of medical students each time. The children enjoyed playing games and learning in stations where different emergency scenarios were covered. The first aid training included, among others, what to do in case of choking, bleeding, loss of consciousness and skin burns. There was a practical aspect as the children learned how to bandage a wound, move someone to the recovery position and dislodge an object that may be causing choking.
It was an amazing experience for everyone and we are grateful to the students of the Pediatrics Society for their enthusiasm and for volunteering their time and energy. We are looking forward to collaborating with them again starting this month with the Science Club as part of our ASC program!
