Year 1 — All About Me ➜ Fall into Autumn
Y1 had a positive and heartwarming start to Year 1. They enjoyed interactive activities, art and walks around school as they learned new rules and routines and their first IPC topic, “All About Me.” They created a special class book filled with drawings of themselves and their families, emotions, likes and other fun facts. They also learned about their body through games, making large paper dolls, and exploring their 5 senses. Now they have their new IPC unit, Fall into Autumn. Year One is Fun!

Year 2 — Who am I?
The first IPC unit in Y2 is “Who am I?”, where pupils explore all the different aspects that make us who we are—from families, cultures and places of birth to skills, emotions and the groups we belong to. To kick off the unit, children analysed mixed-up “negative” photos and had to recognise their friends. This fun challenge encouraged them to notice unique characteristics and celebrate what makes each person special.

Year 3 — Brainwave
Y3 started IPC with the unit Brainwave. They explored the challenges and joys of teaching someone a new skill and realised the importance of practice. Then, as “Learning Detectives,” they toured the school gathering evidence of what everyone is learning—new skills or new knowledge.

Year 4 — Chocolate!
Year 4 kicked off the year with the sweetest start—our exciting IPC unit on Chocolate! For the entry point, students took part in a blindfolded taste test, sampling dried fruits and different types of chocolate, using only taste and smell to guess what they were eating.

Year 5 — Brainwave (Deep Dive)
Y5 revisited Brainwave with a deeper focus on parts of the brain and their functions. They researched barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them, solved real-life scenarios and shared de-stress tips. In the international strand, they learned about stereotypes and how stereotyping can block us from achieving our goals and dreams.

Year 6 — Space Scientists
Y6 launched their new Space Scientists unit by exploring the relative distance between Earth and the Moon using props. Pupils then designed paper-and-straw rockets and attempted a launch from Earth to the Moon. With only 1 out of 11 rockets making it, they quickly learned that reaching the Moon isn’t easy—and that their rocket designs need further improvement!
