General information and survey regarding tuition fees during the closure ordered by the Health Ministry.
We would like to share with you some new rather general information regarding our approach towards tuition fees while the school is required to stay closed due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Our aim since the very beginning has been, on the one hand, to focus primarily on children and figure out some effective ways we could continue delivering learning programmes to them. At the same time, however, we understand that for many of you this situation is causing troubles too and paying full tuition when the school is closed would be unreasonable to ask for. Finally, it is very important for us to continue supporting our teachers making sure that the impact on their salaries will be minimised. In this unprecedented situation all parties (school, teachers, parents and children) are losing and our response has been governed by one simple principle which is that all parties should share the costs of this situation.
I can inform you that we will be putting together a package for parents in order to compensate for the days the school has been closed. At this stage we are unable to state how much we can refund parents exactly. So far we still have not received any additional funding from the government. Though if our application is successful and the school receives extra funding to deal with this situation, we will put together a more concrete proposal for all parents. In this proposal we plan to state the financial amount per day we will be reimbursing and further eligibility criteria to qualify for such reimbursement.
Since we have always valued your opinion and at the end of the day we are making decisions about your private money I would like to hear from more of you to evaluate what is the majority view. I know already that we will not be able to satisfy all views. However, even if the package may not address individual needs, we see parents as partners and we have always considered the views of parents in all important decisions we make.

Jolly Phonics is an engaging way to teach children pre -reading and pre -writing skills using phonics. Phonics is the teaching of the sounds that letters make, rather than the names of letters that are taught in the alphabet, because it is the sounds that are useful for reading and writing, not the names. ORT is a reading scheme which has been developed to help children learn to read from the age of 4. This scheme is used by a vast majority of preschools and schools in the UK and around the world.ORT includes popular characters and illustrations such as Biff, Chip and Kipper, Floppy, Wordless Stories and easy regular word books to capture children’s imagination and interest and help them develop their pre reading skills. It is an excellent way to practise the skills learned through the Jolly Phonics Programme..
Cambridge Primary ENGLISH promotes an enquiry-based approach, developing learners’ confidence, creativity and intellectual engagement. Learners develop English skills that they can apply to a range of different purposes and audiences in everyday situations and in study.
We teach English as a first language. Pupils that are only starting to learn English or need some additional support are allocated to our intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programme.
More about Cambridge Primary EnglishCambridge Primary MATHEMATICS focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that learners can apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject. Knowing your times tables facts without practical application and without developing alongside some good problem solving skills is not that helpful - in our school, we make sure our pupils know why they are learning it and how they can use the specific knowledge and skill.
